It is more than a month when Kelantan FA clinched their first Treble Victory in Kelantan Football History & Malaysian Football History. I hope it is not too late to congratulate Kelantan FA (KAFA) with this sweet victory.
But as always, behind the sweetness there were bitterness. Directly or indirectly. Behind the Treble moment, there were still a few (if not a lot) that require improvement/development.
The Treble
The Red Warriors (TRW) 2012 football campaign varies from the beginning until end of the season. They had low tide & high tide performance. Personally I conclude that the Team had good consistency in the league game, showed a bored final (maybe one of the most boring final game in history) even though finally won the FA Cup, produced a heart trembling scenario of Msia Cup Final (as per TV Commentator comment: this game will be remembered as one of the most interesting Malaysia Cup Final in history).
As one of TRW fans, few things still saddened me during the Malaysia Cup Final.
a. Throwing Bottle (mineral water) Attitude
This has never change so far. Tell me friends, why some of us throw the bottle? I could not answer. I don't know why. I was there in Shah Alam Stadium, together with 7 other Kelantanese friends, until the final whistle. We did not throw any single bottle. Not even a single thing thrown away.
b. Political Flag Show-Off
The KAFA President used to made personal comment; some Kelantan fans never know or aware that every time supporters bring into stadium & show the Political Flag clearly to public, then each time KAFA will be penalised by FAM. I am not sure how the penalty system is calculated, but I am hoping that it will counted as one time penalty in lump sum (regardless of how many number of that flag).
Why should we bring those flags? For what?
c. Gendang Rebana Ubi - Where is that magic sound?
Maybe because of the massive crowd during the Malaysia Cup Final in Shah Alam (i guess), the sound of the famous Kelantan FA war drum was losing it's aura. To me, the sound was too slow. Maybe somebody could explain this to me (in case they have an opinion or information).
Compared to the sound (Gendang Rebana Ubi) we produced during 2nd leg semi-final match with Selangor at the same venue, it was much much better.
d. Rumours said We Will Lose The Final Game...
I do not like rumours. But sometimes tend to trust it & influenced by it. I pushed myself to go & support my State Team. Eventually we win!
Buah Nangka
"Saya tak sangka pemain-pemain kelantan lembik macam buah nangka..." part of the comment made by ATM coach right after the final whistle. It was an emotional comment by one the great Football Coaches in Malaysian Super League.
Suprisingly, the comment made came from the ex-KAFA Coach. The One who was well respected by TRW fans, once upon time. The One who guided Kelantan to win the same Malaysia Cup Trophy in 2010.
The One who involved in building the great team as we had today.
TRW fans via football website & blog were angered by this comment. Expressing their opinion & undeniably released their bad remarks onto the said Coach.
Well, it was a tactic by a leading team for time wasting (with result 3-2 in extra time). Some Teams will practise this when the are leading & the play time almost finish. But there are Teams which did not.
In future, I would prefer to see a fair play game by the State Team where I was born in. During the final, TRW Team did it (easily fall down as buah nangka lembik) in excessive manner. We will be more proud if we won the game with very less Buah Nangka tactic. Imagine if we won the Last Prestigious Cup for 2012 (Piala Malaysia) in a much more cleaner way without a single Buah Nangka tactic! That would be great!
The Loyal & Traitor
Every time when season comes to an end, some player contract will end as well. There will be bargain & offer from other Team. Either via front or back door. Some player will stay (renew the contract), while some may leave (at the end of their contract). This is normal in professional football environment.
However, certain player who are still contracted also request/choose to leave, due to whatever reason they have.
For example, lately everybody always heard about the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Year - Norshahrul Idlan Talaha (Mat Yo) who choose to leave & play with Johor next year. This created Tug-of-War situation between KAFA & PBNJ. The situation becomes tense at certain point in time as per sport report by local media. I am following this issue closely as a fans of TRW.
The question is; should Norshahrul be labelled as a Traitor?
Everybody may have their different opinion & expression on this.
To me, on paper YES... mathematically, he is a traitor. But again Norshahrul had contributed a lot to TRW & every Kelantanese Supporters will agree to this anyhow. To label him as a traitor is too much if you asked me personally.
The current contract is valid & still there. He should not leave & breach the contract.
KAFA has all the right of not letting him go, if KAFA wants to do that way. However, since Norshahrul request for "release", KAFA had considered of letting him go conditionally (Even if there will be effect on the sponsorship; Yusmira Trading already decided to pull them out from becoming one of the sponsors next season with regard to the leaving of Mat Yo. Others might not aware that financial consequences will be faced by KAFA by letting Mat Yo go; who is running their Football Association on "self-finance" method, thanks to the sponsorship they had secured last season).
If PBNJ really wants him, they have to fulfill whatever requested by KAFA (the amount of transfer fee). The statement that KAFA is demanding too much should not arise at all, since Norshahrul is still contracted to them. And as Norshahrul secured the MVP Award for the third time in a row, he has a price tag!
Above all, let us not label The MVP as Betrayer. He was part of the victory curved by TRW these few years.
Let Norshahrul go, but PBNJ should agree & pay the price tag. If no mutual agreement happens between KAFA & PBNJ, Norshahrul should stay & play.
