Last Saturday, 8 Dec 2012, was my daughter's birthday. I brought her to watch cartoon movie - Wreck-It Ralph in GSC One Utama Shopping Centre, Damansara.

While we were planning to buy the ticket, one guy said "hi" to us. He asked us which movie we are planning to watch. We responded by saying not yet decided actually, maybe Wreck-It Ralph.

November 2012 - Pampasan Tertinggi PruBSN Takaful

Ikutkan rekod, bulan lepas adalah bulan paling ramai pelanggan-pelanggan insurans saya yang jatuh sakit. Bulan November 2012 adalah sejarah baru bagi kalender insurans saya kerana merupakan bulan dengan jumlah pampasan tertinggi PruBSN Takaful direkodkan untuk para pelanggan.

Tiada aktiviti insurans pada malam ini. Tumpuan saya tertumpu kepada perlawanan penting AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 Malaysia menentang Laos yang berkesudahan Harimau Malaya menang 4 - 1.

Keseluruhan permainan dipamerkan tadi lebih menarik & bertenaga. Kita seharusnya menang dengan jaringan lebih besar, kalau tidak kerana ketumpulan penyerang (Safee Sali) yang pernah dilabel "Harimau Berantai" oleh Media Malaysia.

The Treble - Buah Nangka - The Loyal & Traitor

It is more than a month when Kelantan FA clinched their first Treble Victory in Kelantan Football History & Malaysian Football History. I hope it is not too late to congratulate Kelantan FA (KAFA) with this sweet victory.

But as always, behind the sweetness there were bitterness. Directly or indirectly. Behind the Treble moment, there were still a few (if not a lot) that require improvement/development.

The Treble
The Red Warriors (TRW) 2012 football campaign varies from the beginning until end of the season. They had low tide & high tide performance. Personally I conclude that the Team had good consistency in the league game, showed a bored final (maybe one of the most boring final game in history) even though finally won the FA Cup, produced a heart trembling scenario of Msia Cup Final (as per TV Commentator comment: this game will be remembered as one of the most interesting Malaysia Cup Final in history).

As one of TRW fans, few things still saddened me during the Malaysia Cup Final.

Bad Insurance Agent

Below is the story told by one stranger I met. I approached him during my Prudential Booth in Subang Perdana, Seksyen U5 Shah Alam. This guy came across 1 personal life insurance agent in Tropicana Medical Centre, Kota Damansara, Selangor just before the last fasting month.

Stranger: I plan to buy insurance policy for me & my child. How should I do?

Insurance Agent: Yes, no issue. Let us meet some other day at my insurance office in Petaling Jaya district (PJ).

Saturday, 29th September 2012, at 3pm, I went to TGV Sunway Pyramid. With my senior prudential agent. But this time it was not meant for insurance activity. Guess what?

We received free ticket for movie, paid by Prudential Malaysia. Few movies available. Anyway, since I prefer an action pack movie as always, I chose RESIDENT EVIL:RETRIBUTION.

3 Cheques Delivered within October 2012

Same claim benefit for 3 Different Clients at 3 different living location with 3 different ward admission cases. RM800, RM306 & RM1025 cheques were delivered respectively. All are Hospital Benefits claim as promised by Prudential BSN Takaful.

Due to my schedule is quite hectic this 2nd week of October, I just managed to bank them in directly to clients' bank account yesterday, Monday 8th Oct. Normally when I have got time, I will meet the client & deliver the said cheque by hand.

Kelantan FA 1 - Arbil FC 1 (A Lesson Learnt)

Last Tuesday night, 25th Sept I spent my time watching my favourite football team - Kelantan versus Arbil FC from Iraq. I planned to rest for a while from my daily activity.

It was a fair game. I think Kelantan controlled the game but the lady luck was not with us that night. We had few good chances, but were not able to find the net. Kelantan were trailing behind after Arbil managed to score first. We were down with 1 goal & the clock kept ticking until the 90th minute.

Rumah Terbuka Hari Raya 2012

Jemputan rumah terbuka sempena bulan Syawal terlalu banyak. Saya merasakan tahun 2012 adalah tahun paling banyak saya mendapat jemputan untuk menghadiri rumah terbuka. Ada yang merupakan jiran satu kawasan perumahan, manakala tak kurang juga jemputan dari pelanggan-pelanggan Insurans Prudential saya.

Setiap hujung minggu, Sabtu & Ahad pasti ada jemputan yang tiba. Seingat saya, ada satu hari di hujung minggu, terdapat dari 4 sehingga 6 jemputan untuk dipenuhi. Macam-macam juadah rumah terbuka yang disediakan. Dari nasi tomato, nasi briyani, sate, lemang dan sebagainya... Alhamdulillah, mungkin rezeki saya tahun ini.

Insurans Tipu...?

Kadang-kadang biasa kita dengar sesetengah orang membuat komen; "insurans tipu..." atau mungkin "ejen insurans tipu..." . Saya akui memang ada kes-kes sebegini, berlaku penipuan / penyelewengan oleh ejen @ syarikat insurans. Walaubagaimanapun, ianya bergantung kepada keadaan dan mungkin juga faktor-faktor tertentu.

Saya belum mahu mengulas tentang kenyataan diatas buat masa ini. Tetapi saya ingin berkongsi cerita pengalaman saya sebagai ejen yang ditipu oleh orang perseorangan.

Teringat pula dulu-dulu di tahun 90-an (zaman persekolahan & zaman pekerjaan semasa masih bujang), setiap kali menjelang raya, saya tidak akan melepaskan peluang untuk membeli majalah berkonsepkan kartun lawak yang diminati, majalah Ujang. Kartunis yang paling diminati - Gayourock. Pada pendapat saya, Gayour (singkatan dari Gayourock) mempunyai teknik lukisan & tona warna antara yang terbaik & paling menarik di Malaysia.

Walaubagaimanapun, pada tahun ini saya tidak membeli Ujang Edisi Hari Raya, kerana harganya yang bagi saya terlalu mahal (melebihi RM10 senaskah). Belek punya belek di sebuah kedai buku di bandar Machang, adalah satu majalah kartun menarik bernama G3 (harganya dalam lingkungan RM8 sahaja). Mulanya, saya hanya tengok-tengok sahaja, tapi bila terpandang adanya beberapa karya kartunis Gayour, saya terus membelinya.

Pada yang tidak mengenali Kartunis Gayour, berikut saya lampirkan sebuah lukisan hari raya karya tangan beliau (bersama alamat blog).

The Last Week of Ramadhan 2012

Last week i managed to confirm with Prudential, the 2 cheques amounting RM200 & RM1,000 respectively were already approved. Just waiting its arrival at my Agency Office in Phileo Damansara, PJ.

I do hope that I will receive it before Thursday, 16th Aug, so that it could be delivered (at least bank in) to my valued clients before Hari Raya day. Hopefully...

Anyway, it was a frustating week in week out in Ramadhan this year with regard to my insurance performance. Not even a single new case submitted. All follow up calls & appointments were not doing well.

A huge number of my clients actually had their company's coverage in term of medical and/or personal accident coverage, but still they took another personal prudential life insurance policy. Be it conventional or takaful plan.

Beberapa hari sebelum Ramadhan, ada 2 pelanggan saya yang dimasukkan ke wad & 1 pelanggan terlibat dalam kemalangan kecil. Alhamdulillah, semua tuntutan telah diuruskan dan kini dalam proses penilaian. InshaAllah sekiranya tiada masalah, menjelang pertengahan bulan Ogos, semua cek tuntutan akan diterima.. Sekurang-kurangnya dapat saya meringankan beban pelanggan yang terlibat melalui bantuan insurans Prudential.

Teh Tarik & Roti Inti Tuna

Di Prudential, saya sentiasa melihat dari sudut berbeza; yang mana insurans peribadi bukanlah satu keperluan asas, tetapi ianya adalah suatu "pilihan keperluan" masa kini.

Adakalanya saya mengingatkan pelanggan-pelanggan saya yang mana insurans peribadi Prudential mereka tidak akan menyelesaikan masalah, tetapi ia mungkin akan membantu dimasa memerlukan. Insurans mungkin tidak akan membayar keseluruhan bil/kos rawatan*, tetapi insurans pasti mengurangkan beban anda pada masa anda mungkin tercari-cari pilihan penyelesaian yang lebih baik.

Bad Habits of Procrastinator

Sometimes, people tend to delay when making decision in taking up an insurance policy. This include certain people who does not have any, but are fully aware the importance of it.

When you have few tasks to settle during your office hour, but you keep delaying it, it causes the task to be partially completed during the day & might need to be postponed to the next day.
When you maintain you car acceleration & leave a huge gap between the car in front (when the traffic light has changed to green for quite sometimes), it may cause you pass the line while the back car may not just because of your delay.
When you keep reading blogs on the internet during the time you supposed to go to sleep, the delay may just cost you to wake up a little bit late on the next morning.

FA CUP Final 2012 - Profit & Loss of The Most Expensive Ticket in Malaysian History

Last Saturday, 19th May 2012, a new history was written in Malaysian Football. Kelantan FA won the Cup for the first time. What is so special regarding this victory is Kelantan has won it simultaneously with the newly introduced design of the said Cup. The Cup size is smaller than the previous design, but it is a big meaning for the whole Kelantan Football Fans. I was there in the stadium & celebrated the win with another 100,000 football fans (estimated figure including Sime Darby supporters).

Teater Muzikal Upin Ipin

Pada 1 Mei yang lepas, saya meluangkan masa bersama keluarga menonton Teater Muzikal Upin & Ipin di Panggung Sari Istana Budaya, Jalan Tun Razak, KL.

Masih ingat kali terakhir saya menonton teater adalah semasa diploma pengajian kejuruteraan di UTM Jalan Semarak. Teater sama sekali berbeza dengan cerita panggung wayang kerana ianya dilakukan secara langsung tanpa sebarang pengubahsuaian. Bagi saya untuk sesekali, teater amat menarik untuk ditonton.

Cuma bezanya kali ini, harga tiketnya berkali ganda mahal berbanding harga tiket semasa saya menonton teater di UTM dahulu.

FAM Decision on Tan Sri Annuar Musa

Tan Sri Annuar Musa (TSAM), The KAFA President (Kelantan Football Association) is penalized with 30 months disarmament from all current posts in FAM (Football Association of Malaysia) & KAFA. He is not permitted to be involved in any football activities, including national and state football.

TSAM was claimed to make statement (criticizing) to the press/media about national team - Harimau Malaya without consent from FAM Congress (one of FAM Highest Level Management meetings).

"I am covered by the company, so no need to have another personal insurance plan..."

Yes. Very true. Of course no need for you to apply for another personal life insurance, if the company covers you. Most people think it is a waste to have 2 different insurance at the same time.

By calculation, yes it maybe a waste. Why should you spend additional money/personal money for insurance that may provide you with the same coverage. It is better to save that additional money traditionally, either keep it in bank or re-invest it somewhere, rather than keep it/re-invest it with an insurance plan.

Insurance is not just about figure. Some people I met claimed that they pay certain monthly premium, but received higher protection (in term of $) compared to Prudential. Well, every insurance company has their own package & plan. So does Prudential. It is definitely different once compared to one another. As an agent, I truly agree.

However, Insurance is not just about figure in $. Insurance has its complete cycle. When we talk about insurance cycle, it comprises of Right Plan - Hassle Free Service - On Time Reimbursement.

Semuanya kini diinsuranskan [Rumah]

Kepada yang pernah membeli rumah/merancang membeli rumah, mungkin anda tidak tahu yang sebahagian kecil dari jumlah bayaran ansuran bulanan rumah anda sebenarnya adalah bayaran untuk insurans Harga Rumah anda. Maknanya, sekiranya anda membayar RM1,000 setiap sebulan untuk rumah anda;kemungkinan bayaran ansuran bulanan rumah kepada pembiaya (institusi kewangan) sebenarnya cuma RM700 @ RM800 sahaja sebulan, manakala bakinya RM300 @ RM200 (untuk penggenapan kepada angka RM1,000) adalah insurans ke atas Harga Rumah anda.

Kenapa perlu ada insurans Harga Rumah? Sebab sekiranya anda meninggal @ hilang upaya sebelum jumlah pinjaman / baki pinjaman selesai, insurans tersebut akan membayar baki pinjaman / bayaran bulanan. Waris anda (ahli keluarga) tidak perlu bersusah payah untuk menyelesaikan baki pinjaman.

I can still remember, somewhere in year 2006, i just finished doing my site works in one of Putrajaya Buildings-Kementerian Pembangunan Usahawan & Koperasi. The job required me to visit each floor by staircase for observation purpose. It was more than 15 level(if not mistaken) of using emergency staircase. It was very challenging & tiring.

I was thirsty right after job completion, then I decided to buy one take away Ice Tea drink (hand made). After received my order, the person who was washing dishes, stopped his work & entertained me by making the said Tea. I finished the tea, did my prayer & later drove home.

Master Chef (Malaysia)

If I have free time (very seldom actually), I would spend the time watching Master Chef Malaysia program, aired via Astro Ria Channel. I like to cook, and I prefer to cook good food every time I spend my cooking time in the kitchen. One of my best menus is - turmeric fried cuttlefish @ "sotong goreng kunyit" in malay language.

In the program, all contestants compete with each other. On each challenge, they cook to their level best. 3 juries will finally evaluate their final cooked food.

Syok beraksi, kejang uratku!

Hari Sabtu yang lepas, saya ke salah satu kawasan perumahan di Sungai Buloh Country Resort,Saujana Utama bertujuan menghantar satu Polisi Insurans client saya (baru sahaja diluluskan oleh Prudential).

Disebabkan banyak persoalan yang ditimbulkan oleh client saya, masa yang dihabiskan untuk sesi soal jawab & penerangan adalah selama lebih kurang 3 jam (tempoh 3 jam merupakan rekod sesi penghantaran&penerangan polisi saya yang paling panjang).

Happy is definitely better than Sad. Some believe if we always feel happy (example smile,laugh,etc.), we will look young & live longer (I am not sure whether this is true or not. Anyone can verify this?)

I always feel happy when I manage to get new things in life. I think everybody does. For examples, we will feel happy when we buy new apparel, new branded shoe & latest smart phone. We will feel happy when we reach new stages in life. For instances, graduated from university, buy car & property, reaching higher career post/salary.
